Along the way, there are 14 scenic spots reflecting the whole process of Jesus' crucifixion, each of which has a cross or is equipped with relevant pictures and statues in order. It comes from the way Jesus carried the cross from the Governor Pilate's house to the place where he was buried during the crucifixion in Jerusalem. Christianity calls it the via CRU cis or via dolorosa. Later, the Franciscans developed it into a way of prayer and worship. Its cross scenic spots are generally set on the passages in Catholic churches, monasteries, cemeteries or hospitals, or on the roads and mountain feet leading to churches, monasteries or holy places. The worshippers moved forward in turn, stopping to pray in silence at every point. The themes of the crucifixion displayed in these 14 places are as follows: 1 Sentenced to death by Pilate; 2. Carry the cross; 3. Fall under the cross for the first time; 4. Meet the Virgin Mary; 5. Simon of Cyrene helped Jesus carry the cross; 6. The woman Veronica wiped the sweat for Jesus; 7. Second fall; 8. Address the Jerusalem women who wept for him; 9. The third fall; 10. Stripped clothes; 11. Crucified; 12. Die on the cross; 13. The cross was taken off; 14. Buried in a tomb.
Via Crucis (English: via Crucis) refers to a religious activity of Catholicism that imitates the process of Jesus being crucified. It is also called "worship the bitter road", which is mainly carried out in the forties. Fourteen images of bitter roads hung or displayed in the Catholic Church (or elsewhere) depict the deeds of Jesus on his way to Calvary mountain with the cross on his back. Some parishes add the fifteenth place, the resurrection of Jesus, to complete the ultimate goal of the bitter road.
The pilgrimage to Kulu was originally a pilgrimage to Jerusalem.
In the 17th century, St. Leonard of port Maurice, a Franciscan, began to preach the salutation of Kulu. Finally, in 1731, Pope Clement XII identified 14 places as Kulu places and salutation ceremonies. The contents of Kulu were re edited by the late Pope John Paul II, which included commemorating the resurrection of the Lord.
First place
Jesus was sentenced to death (MA 27: l ~ 2, 11 ~ 23). When Jesus testified for the truth, what he got was not the manifestation of the truth, but the false accusation of the elders. When he tried to get justice by law, he got Pilate's unjust judgment. When he hoped that the world would release him with a fair attitude, he got the request of "crucify him". When facing others testifying for the truth, have we falsely accused them for our own interests? When others ask for justice, do we give up because of the so-called "Self-protection", or do we fall into a well because of "others follow suit"? Whenever we do this, our name is: the elders, Pilate and the ignorant people have repeatedly framed and convicted the Lord Jesus Christ in an unjust manner!
Second place
Jesus carries the cross (if 19:16 ~ 17). The cross in life often makes us breathless, and it will make us feel irritable and complain again and again. But, you know what? Without saying a word, Jesus has willingly carried the heaviest cross for us. Whenever we complain about the heavy cross on our backs, please look at those crosses with incurable diseases, cancer, leprosy, AIDS and poor people. Isn't that a hundred times heavier than ours? The heavy cross in life is the best time for us to practice our Christian faith. Are we willing, like Jesus Christ, to carry the cross of daily life in a calm attitude to carry out the will of the heavenly father?
Third place
Jesus fell for the first time (according to 53:3-8). Jesus was insulted and abandoned for my sin. When he took this bitter Road, he fell and hurt for my disobedience. When I am sad about my fate, do I think about it? Have I often realized that Jesus constantly calls us Christians who have been baptized and drank his cup to be like him as a suffering servant of the Lord here and now, willing to bear the suffering of the world and the pain of others. Did I do it?
Fourth
On his way, Jesus met the powerful Jesus of his mother (if 19:26-27). When he gave his life to the world, he could not even take care of his beloved mother, but had to entrust it to his disciples. Today, God does not want to interfere in human affairs all the time. He gives us ability and conscience, and gives us the opportunity to take care of the weak, the poor, the elderly and the lonely. But can we greet these brothers and sisters in need with joy and love?
Fifth place
Simon of Selena helped Jesus carry the cross (Luke 23:26). As Christians, we want to "carry our own cross and follow him". Think about what kind of attitude we use to carry our cross? With what kind of heart to follow him? When we see that others need help, do we escape, just as we dare not touch the cross on Jesus' back? When we can't escape the pain, will we be caught to carry the cross instead of willingly? Remember that every time we clothe the naked, feed the hungry, and give a small helping hand to those in need around us, we are Simon, who helps the Lord Jesus Christ carry the cross and follow him.
Sixth place
The holy woman swabbed the face of Jesus. The Bible did not record the name of the meta woman. She is probably like you and me. She is an ordinary person who speaks lightly. She was unable to stop the plot of the chief priests, to change Pilate's judgment, or to help Jesus carry the heavy cross. She only chose what she could do and what she thought she should do - that is to wipe the sweat and dirt from Jesus' face and let the righteous man have more dignity before he died. Two thousand years later, how many people are still deprived of their dignity? How many people are still unable to enjoy fair and reasonable treatment? In a corrupt society, under a distorted system, what we can do may be very limited. But even within our capabilities, have we tried our best to build a fair, just and dignified society? When persecuted people need us, do we stand up or just be a "comfortable member"?
Seventh place
Jesus' second fall (Rom. 14:13) we tend to judge others quickly according to their appearance, or their own half understanding of things, or some preconceived ideas, saying "he is a bad man", "he is stupid", "he must do so". These premature judgments hinder the opportunities of others and prevent us from really getting to know others. Sometimes, these judgments even cause unnecessary self reproach and conscience uneasiness of others, so that they cannot fully feel the love of God. Have you ever easily judged others and become a stumbling block for others to know God?
Eighth place
Jesus advised the women of Jerusalem (Luke 23:27-28) Jesus' pain is indeed worth crying with one voice, and the women are not spared. But Jesus wants us to see that the reason for his suffering is my sin. How do we feel when we think about how many women cry because of the sins of their children, husbands or fathers? Have we made our mothers, wives or children cry because of our sins? Some women materialize themselves and sell their sacred body and soul in order to meet their money and material desires. Think about whether we are the makers of this materialistic society? Is it an accomplice in discriminating against and exploiting women's body and soul? The earth, as the mother of the earth, is also torn apart by our selfish desires. Are we going to continue to run wild and hurt the mother of the earth?
Ninth place
Jesus fell for the third time (1 Ge 10:12-13). On the journey of life, we will inevitably be tired and fall; However, God still cares for us and gives us the strength to start again. Jesus fell and rose again and again with the cross on his back, which is to tell us that he will share the burden of our life and accompany us through the tortuous journey. No matter how changeable the world is, Christ is still our ultimate strength.
Tenth place
Jesus was stripped of his clothes (Hebrews 1: 11-12) the grace given to us by the Christian faith is not health or fame and wealth, but to let us see through the flesh and the world, and find the meaning of life and eternal happiness after death. Only by seeing through the world and relying on God's blessing wholeheartedly can we have real liberation and real joy. This is what the gospel says, "Blessed are the poor of God" (MA 5:3). Jesus was indifferent to his life and gave up his clothes one by one before his death, which clearly expressed this meaning.
Section 11
Jesus was crucified (if 19:23 ~ 24) Jesus has been crucified. Can we feel the pain? However, the most sad thing for Jesus is not his suffering, but the greed of soldiers. We are all very angry at the soldiers' insult and exploitation of Jesus! However, in daily life, have we exploited Jesus like soldiers? When we don't respect others, think we are right, discriminate against the poor and weak, have too much fun, monopolize too much land, houses and wealth for our own interests, and make others lose the necessities of life, we are the soldiers who divide up Jesus' clothes! In order to stop insulting Jesus Christ, we should break through the self-centered, take the initiative to care for those in need, and give the broken world a light and hope in the spirit of Christ's love, so that everyone can enjoy the glory of human dignity.
Twelfth place
Jesus died on the cross (John 19:28-34) "can you be baptized by me and drink my cup?" Jesus Christ, who has delivered his soul, still invites us to "be baptized by him and drink his cup" again and again in the way of "blood and water". We also know that "being baptized by him" will become "the beloved son of the heavenly Father" and "drinking his cup" will be "integrated into the Christian body" with him, but we will sacrifice a lot for his bitter cup. However, if Jesus Christ says to us, "since you are in such pain, I will change my position with you and come to the cross!" What choice will we make?
Section 13
Jesus' body was removed from the cross (LK. 23:45-48; Gu. 15:42-46). After Jesus died, the centurion regretted, the masses realized, and the cowardly believers summoned up the courage to claim Jesus' body. Everything seems to have improved because of Jesus' death. But how long can this shift last? The Romans persecuted Jews, Islam still fought Jihad, and believers were still afraid to preach openly before the Holy Spirit came, just like us: whenever natural and man-made disasters or major accidents occurred, we would reflect, review, and vowed to change. But how long can this shift last?
14th place
Jesus was buried in the grave (if 19:41-42) Jesus died of our sins and was buried with our sins. What do we bury in life? It is to bury our greed, selfish desires, anger, self-centered, arrogance, prejudice, ignorance and laziness; Or buried the will of God, respect for people, humility, diligence, understanding, self-control? Do we bury our sins, or are we buried by these selfish desires?
