St. Matthew (also known as Matthew), a saint and early Christian missionary historian, was born in Galilea, Judea. He followed Jesus for three years and preached in Palestine. The Gospel was written in 42 AD and later referred to as the "Gospel of Matthew". It is one of the four major Gospels in the New Testament of the Bible. The Gospel recounts the life of Jesus in Aramaic script, which was the common language of the Jewish people at that time. In 91 AD, Matthew was assassinated and died as a martyr. He is one of the twelve apostles of Jesus.
Saint Matteo was a Galilean who worked as a tax collector. The tax collector collecting taxes on behalf of the Romans was a profession highly despised by Jews.
The process of Jesus calling Matteo Ricci as an apostle is recorded by Matteo Ricci himself in the Gospel:... As Jesus went on, he saw a man sitting at a checkpoint named Matteo Ricci. And he said to him, "Follow me!" And he got up and followed Jesus. When Jesus sat at the table in the house, many tax collectors and sinners also came to sit at the table with Jesus and his disciples. When Pharisees entered and saw it, he said to Jesus' disciples, "Why do your teachers eat with tax collectors and sinners?" Jesus heard it and said, "It is not healthy people who need a doctor, but sick people. Go and study what it means: 'I love love love more than sacrifice.' For I am not here to call the righteous, but to call sinners." The call of Saint Matthew was in the second year of Jesus' public preaching.
It should be noted that when other Christian histories list the twelve apostles, St. Thomas is placed after St. Matthew. The list of twelve apostles compiled by Matteo Ricci himself placed his name after St. Thomas and added the word "tax collector" before Matteo Ricci's name.
The Gospel of Saint Matthew was written in Aramaic script, which was a common language among Jews at that time and later referred to as the "Gospel of Matthew".
Saint Matteo Ricci preached the gospel in the Jewish region and later spread to the East, resulting in a fatal martyrdom; The deadly location is said to be Persia and Etiubia. His remains are currently buried in Salerno, southeast of Naples.
Saint Matteo was a rib flavored man, and Saint Marcus referred to him as "the son of Alphaeus.". Lei Wei was probably his original name, but later he followed Jesus and changed the name of Matteo Ricci. Matteo Ricci's father Alphael was not the same person as the father of Jacob Buber the Younger (also known as Alphael).
