Metis (Ancient Greek: Μ ῆ τις， English: Metis) One of the goddess of the ocean, the goddess of primitive wisdom, and the first wife of Zeus; Or the goddess of the sea of Meles.
In Greek mythology, it generally refers to the daughter of Oshinas (Okeanos) and Thais, the goddess of the ocean, the goddess of wisdom and thought, and the mother of Athena and Polos. Hesiod called her the most intelligent and just planner of all gods and people. Sometimes it also refers to the sea goddess of Meles.

Motis is the first generation of wisdom goddess in ancient Greek mythology. His father is Oshinas, the god of the ocean that surrounds the world, and his mother is the goddess of the sea. In some older epics, she often appears in the creation myth and is the ontology of wisdom in Greek mythology. The etymology of the name of Mattis means "wisdom". In the philosophy of the classical Greek period, Methys was the mother god of wisdom and contemplation.
The Stoic school recorded that Motis was a wise goddess of loyalty, and later inherited it as a symbol of the Renaissance.

Zeus was afraid of the prophecy of Gaia and Uranus - she gave birth to a son stronger than her own, so she listened to Gaia's suggestion, coaxed Methys with words, and took her down. At this time, she was pregnant with Athena, and later Zeus vomited Athena, while Methys remained in Zeus's belly. In this way, she became the thought and will of Zeus.

Book collection
This myth is described in more detail in the "Book Collection" [4] of the false Apollodorus. Cronus, fearing that he would be overthrown by the children, swallowed them when they were born. Only Zeus survived. After Zeus grew up, he got the help of Mattis. She gave Cronus a kind of emetic (or wine), and Cronus vomited the baby he swallowed. After Zeus defeated Cronus, he began to pursue Mattis, who had changed various shapes to avoid his pursuit. When she was pregnant, Zeus swallowed her as early as possible, because Gaia had predicted that after she gave birth to her daughter, she would give birth to a son and become the king of heaven. Afraid of this happening, Zeus swallowed her into his stomach. When it was time to give birth, Hephaestus opened Zeus' head with an axe, and Athena jumped out of her head armed and landed on the bank of the Triton River.
