Job (Hebrew: אִיּוֹב; Living in a place called Ush in the north of Mesopotamia, he is the chief of the nomadic nation, rich in wealth, powerful in power, and famous for his integrity, godliness and charity.
According to the Bible, Job was a righteous man who was faithful and always feared God.
At the beginning, he said that there was a man named Job in the land of Uz, who was completely upright, kind, loving, god-fearing, and never did anything unjust. He has a happy family. His wife gave him seven sons and three daughters; There are 7000 sheep, 3000 camels, 500 cattle and 500 donkeys in the family; He also has a group of servants and maidservants, and he is the most famous man in the East. His sons often set up banquets in their homes and invited their three sisters to eat and drink together. On the morning after each banquet, Job would offer burnt offerings for each child, for fear that any of them would offend God. At that time, in the sky, many angels gathered before God, and Satan also mixed in. The LORD said, "Satan, where are you from?" Satan said, I am wandering all over the earth. "The LORD said," Have you seen my servant Job? There will be no more upright and god-fearing people like him on the earth. Satan said, "How can Job worship God for no reason? It is not because you protect him and his family, protect everything he has. His happiness is given by you. If you destroy everything he has, Will he still worship you? "God said," OK, "I will give him everything to you now, but you must not hurt his life." Satan, with the permission of the LORD, began to plan for disaster and disaster, and played with him on Job. One day, Job's children were eating and drinking in their elder brother's house, when suddenly a messenger ran to Job and gasped and said to him, "When the cow was plowing in the field and the donkey was grazing nearby, The people of Sheba burst in and took away the livestock. He also killed the servant with weapons, and I escaped with several servants. "A servant ran in," he said, "I don't know what happened. A fire suddenly fell in the sky and killed the sheep and many servants. I also escaped with luck." A servant ran in, "he said," The Chaldeans broke in three groups, took all the camels, killed many servants with knives, and another servant ran in, "Your children were eating and drinking in the elder brother's house, when suddenly a strong wind blew down the house, and your children were all crushed to death in it. Only I and a few servants escaped." In an instant, Job lost everything, relatives and property, but he did not complain. He stood up, tore his clothes, shaved his hair, and fell on the ground in pain, saying, "I came naked, and I will go naked. You gave me life, and you will take my life. I will always praise you,", Job still worships God and loves God. "The Lord said," Although you have brought him so many disasters without reason, he is still sincere to God. Satan said that is of course, everyone is willing to give up everything to save his life. "If you hurt his body, will he still worship you? "God said," Now I give him to you, but you don't want to kill him. Satan, with the permission of the LORD, began to bring disaster to Job himself. Job was suddenly covered with poison sores from head to foot, so he had to sit in the ashes and scrape himself with tiles. His wife said to him, "Are you still stubborn? Give up your faith ", how can you say such foolish words? Job blamed his wife:" Are we willing to enjoy God's blessing, but not to accept God's disaster? After so much suffering, Job didn't say a word disrespectful to God. Job had three friends: Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuahite, and Zophar the Namarite. When they learned about Job, they made an appointment to visit him together. When they saw that Job was completely disfigured by his illness and could hardly recognize him, they burst into tears, tore their clothes and threw dust on their bodies. They sat with Job on the ground for seven days and seven nights without saying a word to each other. Six days later, Job began to curse his birthday: "May the night when I was pregnant and the day when I was born vanish! May that day become dark, may God not look for it, and may the light not shine. May the clouds cover it, may the eclipse appear threatening, and may that night never enter the ring of growth and forget the years. May that night have no sound of joy and no joy of birth. May the stars at the dawn of that night become dark, and never look forward to the light of the morning. Why didn't I die in the womb? Why didn't I go out of the womb And die? Why is there a knee to receive me? Why is there milk to feed me? If there were no such things, I would have lain down and slept with the kings and counsellors who had lived in palaces and the princes who had been full of gold and silver. In that world, the wicked no longer do evil, the tired enjoy peace, even the prisoners can rest, and no longer hear the scolding of the supervisor; In that world, there was no distinction between corruption and nobility, and slaves were as free as servants. "Why should the suffering people give light to him? Why should the suffering people give life to him? They want to die instead of dying, and they will not hesitate to choose the latter among the treasures and tombs. Why do the things I fear come to me, and the things I fear come to me. There is no stability, no peace, no happiness, only disaster." The Temanite Elifa saw his friend so painful, He comforted him, "Job, you don't want to talk to others, do you? But I can't help saying it. In the past, you always taught others to make the weak strong and help the fallen stand up again.
Job
Job
It's your turn to suffer, but you are confused. Don't you know that your worship of God is not your hope, and your absence of evil thoughts is your comfort? "Job, call out and see who will help you? You are so stupid. I know a fool whose children were crushed to death at the gate of the city; his crops were eaten by hungry people, and even those growing in thorns were not left; his property was suddenly burned by the fire. The disaster did not come from the ground, and there will be such or such misfortunes in life." As for me, I worship God and ask God for instructions in everything. God's actions are immeasurable. He rains on the earth, gives water to the fields, helps the humble and forgives the suffering. God exposes the tricks of the wicked and helps the wise to succeed. Blessed are those whom God punishes, so you cannot underestimate his discipline. Because of what you broke, he wrapped it up: he hurt his son and he healed him. In famine, he saved you from death; He saved you from the sword in the war. He protects you from wild animals and protects your sheep from loss. Your descendants will be developed, and your descendants will be as numerous as the grass on the ground. You will also live a long life. These are our experiences. You must listen to them. They are good for you. "Job replied," If I can weigh my troubles and sufferings on the scale, they will be heavier than the sand on the sea. So I am impatient.
"I only hope that God can meet my requirements and end my life. I have never violated the will of God and used it to comfort myself. I am not cast in copper and iron, and I can't wait any longer. For a man who is discouraged and will give up worshiping God, my friends should care for him, but you see that my suffering is scared. Did I ask you for anything? Did I ask you to save me?" OK, You continue to teach me a lesson. I just keep silent. But what's the use of high-sounding words? Please look into my eyes. I'm not lying. Why do you think I don't distinguish between good and evil? "Life in the world is like a war, working like a slave every day, day after day, year after year. God, my life is just a breath, I may never see happiness and happiness again, I will not block my mouth, I will tell all the pain. I am not the sea, not the big fish, why do you set up a defense against me? What is man, you should take him to heart, monitor him every morning and evening, and always test him When did you stop looking at me and let me swallow my saliva? "Bildad of Shua interrupted Job:" When are you going to say these words; How can God be unfair? Perhaps your children offended him, and he made them suffer retribution. If you pray to God, if you are truly honest, God will give you greater prosperity and prosperity.
Job's wonderful pictures
Job's wonderful pictures (39)
"The reed can't live without water. Once it is gone, it will wither immediately. The child who forgets God will also lose the things he depends on. God will not abandon those who are loyal to him, let alone help the evil people. Everything of the evil people will eventually become empty." "I know it is," Job said, "But how can a man win over God? Even if God asks a thousand questions, a man can't answer them. God is omnipotent. He can shake the earth at will and dominate the sun, the moon and the stars. He walks by me and even stands in front of me, I have no sense. He wants what he wants, who dares to ask him, what do you do? How dare I argue with God? Although I am innocent. Even if I cry for help, how can God believe me ? The world was handed over to the wicked, and the judges were blindfolded. Good and evil are indistinguishable. "My heart is troubled, so I must speak. I want to say to God: Don't condemn me, tell me, you created me, why you destroyed me, why you want to let the plot of the wicked succeed? In fact, you know I am innocent, I have no sin. Why do you want me to be born, let me die in my mother's womb. I have few days left, please let me go, let me go to the dark and the shadow of death, let me also Walk faster. "Zofa, a Namarite, never spoke. Hearing this, he said:" You are so talkative, can you still be justified? You exaggerate, I have to speak. You say that you are innocent and pure before God. I really want God to expose your lies immediately. Therefore, God is pursuing it on you. You deserve less than your sins. You should keep your heart right and drive sin and evil away from your home, so that you can be upright. You are alive. Be as bright as the sun at noon. I want to tell you that the wicked are blind. They have no way to escape. They can only die. "
Job was very angry when he heard Zofa's words, "You are really good people! If you die, there will be no wise people in the world. But I have the same wisdom as you, no less than you. Who doesn't know what you say? You are safe, so you gloat at the victims. I want to ask God why innocent people are ridiculed.
"You can ask the birds in the air, the animals on the ground, the fish in the water, and the earth. Everyone of them knows that God created them. It is the LORD who created all life in the world. What God destroyed can no longer be rebuilt. The man who is bound by God cannot let go, he keeps the water, and the water will dry up, he releases the water, and the water will turn the ground upside down.
"God's power and power are immeasurable, which can make the country prosperous or perish; he can make the territory vast or make it disappear.
"I have seen it all with my own eyes, heard it with my own ears, and understood it all. I know what you know. Do you want to ask for information for God by making up lies and pleading for God without asking for facts? I know I have no hope of living any more, but I still have to appeal for myself. This is the only way I can save myself, because the unfaithful people dare not face God.
Please listen carefully to me, I am innocent: "Born by a woman, life is short, and there are many hardships to go through. How can you pay attention to such a person who is born like a blooming flower and fades away like a flash of shadow when withering? A person's life has a fixed number, and he is no exception. Then please turn around and stop looking at him, let him rest, until he ends his life like a hired worker.
"If the tree is cut down, it can still hope to sprout again, but it can't regenerate when people die, just like the sea water has dried up. The river is dry. Please hide me in the underworld, put me in a secret place, and set a day to commemorate me after you calm down." But Elifa, the Teman, was impatient to hear it: "How can a wise man answer questions with empty knowledge, and use these useless words and useless speech theories? From what you say, you can clearly see that you have no longer worshipped God. Without me, your own words have proved your guilt.
"Are you the first person to be born? Are you created before the mountains? Have you heard the secret decree of God? Can you monopolize the wisdom of all people? What do you know that we don't know? What do you know that we don't understand? The white-haired old man among us is older than your father.
"I tell you, you must listen. These are also the things that our ancestors have handed down: those who are unfaithful to God will not have children; those who are bribed by others will have their tents burned. The wicked can only live in unoccupied and disorderly houses, and he will never be rich, and his property will not be preserved." Job was really tired of their words, "I've heard too much of this. You comfort people, but it's annoying. What's the use of these empty words? I can also say you
In that case. If you are in my position, I will attack you.
"When I speak, my sorrow cannot be dispelled; when I don't speak, my sorrow has not left me.
God kept my relatives and friends away from me, attacked me, and the enemy laughed at me. Ask God to give me a chance to argue, just as people argue with friends. My life has come to an end, and my grave is ready. May God give me a certificate and declare my injustice. "
Because Job insisted that he was innocent, his three friends stopped arguing with him.
Unexpectedly, Elihu, the son of Balagah, the Ramite of the Buzite, heard their conversation. On the one hand, Elihu was angry that Job did not admit his guilt and complained about God. On the other hand, he was angry that Job's three friends could not answer Job's words. When they stop arguing, Elihu opened his mouth to pursue: "I am young, and you are old, but I still want to say my opinion. I speak without mercy and never flatter others. Job, I heard you say that you are innocent and that you have not committed any sin, but God is waiting for an opportunity to attack you. I want to answer you, that you are not justified. God is greater than all people in the world. How can you accuse God? God often reminds people of dreams and visions when they sleep What should be done and what should not be done are always incomprehensible. God rewards everyone according to their behavior, and he never loses justice. If God is intent on taking back all the spirit and Qi for himself, then the people with blood and Qi will immediately die, and the people in the world will return to the vast dust.
"God does not despise anyone. He does not protect the lives of the wicked and vindicates the poor.
He exalts the righteous so that they may sit on the throne with the king; If they behave proudly, they will suffer and show them their mistakes; If they change their ways, they will enjoy endless happiness, or they will be killed by the sword. Those who do not respect God in their hearts will die early. God enlightens people's wisdom when they suffer. God will save you from suffering, but you are full of evil words. How can you go unpunished? "God absorbs water and turns it into rain, and sprinkles it on the earth from the clouds; God gives the people abundant food; God strikes the enemy with lightning, and God breathes into ice... Do you know how all this is formed? How can you compare with God? God is extremely fair, God never treats people hard, but does not pity those who think they are right."
At this time, The LORD said to Job in the whirlwind: "Who is explaining my purpose in ignorant language? I ask you, where are you when I set up the foundation of the earth? Do you know who made the length and width of the earth, where the foundation was laid, and who laid the foundation stone? On that day, the stars sang, the angels cheered, and the water gushed out like fetal cells. Who closed it? I used clouds as clothing, and darkness as cloth, to draw boundaries for the water, install bolts, and say to it:" Your waves can only reach here, not over. It is I who set the position for the sun and let the sun shine on all sides of the earth.
"Have you ever been to the source of the sea and the bottom of the abyss, have you ever opened the door of death to you? Can you see through his vast expanse? If you know, just say it!" Have you ever entered the snowbank and seen the hailstone barn; The snow and hail were prepared for disaster and war. "
"Do you know who divides the way for the rain, who opens the way for the lightning, who rains in the wilderness, making the grass in the barren land continuous? Do you know where the dew comes from, and where the ice comes from?" Can you untie the band of the participating stars for the Hill Galaxy Festival, and can you bring out the twelfth house on time to guide the Big Dipper and the seven stars that follow it? "Can you give wisdom to all living beings?"
"Do you know when the wild sheep in the mountains will give birth? Can you observe the day when the doe calves? Who will untie the wild donkey's rope and let it go free? Who will let the wild ox serve you and rake the land and carry food with you?" Is the strength of the horse yours? Are you wearing the mane on its neck? Did you make it jump? It cultivates land at home and follows the army. From a distance, it can hear its master's cry.
Can you answer Job, who is contentious, and Job, who is debating with God? "
Job replied, "I am so mean. What can I say to you? I will never say anything again."
The angel of the LORD said to Job again from the whirlwind: "I ask you, how can you calm down and show yourself to be a righteous man? Do you have arms like God, and can you thunder like him? Look at the giant beast, which is as strong as copper and iron. The giant beast is the head of God's creation. Who can catch it? Who can wear its nose with a cage? Can you catch the crocodile with a fishhook? Can you press down its tongue with a rope and pierce its gills with a hook? The crocodile will be linked to you Will I make a covenant with you to be your servant forever? Can you put your hand on it and play with it? It is futile for people to hope to catch the monster. "
After hearing this, Job said to God, "I know you can do everything, and no one can disobey your will. What I said is that I don't understand. I pray you to listen to my prayer because I have something to say. I ask you to tell me. I heard about you before, but now I see you with my own eyes. I am ashamed of what I said."
The LORD then said to Eliphaz the Temanite, "I am not satisfied with you and your two friends, because your comments on me are far from what my servant Job said. Go and take seven bulls and seven rams to my servant Job to offer burnt offerings for yourself, and Job will pray for you. Because I am happy with what he has done, I will not punish you as you deserve."
After Job prayed for his friend, God lifted him out of the bitter sea and gave him many times more than he had before. Job's brothers, sisters and friends came to see him and comforted him when they talked about the disaster the Lord had brought him. Everyone sent him a piece of silver and a gold ring.
Job has come through all his hardships. Later, he had 14000 sheep, 6000 camels, 2000 cows and 1000 donkeys. His wife bore him seven sons and three daughters. His daughters are the most beautiful women in the world. They share their father's estate with their brothers. Since then, Job has lived for more than 140 years and has enjoyed a happy life of five generations living together. (Bo: 1-42)
Job's character, piety and patience, and integrity are beyond reproach. In the trial, Job was rebuked by God for his grievances (Job 408), but his original behavior was indeed desirable. So God said he was "completely upright" from the beginning. Here are two items to prove his completeness.
Treat others with love
For orphans: he helped orphans (2912); The orphan ate with him like a father and son (31, 17 to 18).
To widows: He makes widows happy (2913); Don't let the widow down; Helping widows from their mother's womb (31, 16, 18).
For the poor: he helps the poor who cry (2916); He is the eye of the blind and the foot of the lame (2915); The father of the poor (2916); Allow the poor to get what they want (3116); Make the man without clothes warm because of his sheep's wool (31, 19, 20).
Guest travelers: He did not allow guests to stay in the street, but opened the door to meet the travelers (31 32).
To the enemy: Do not sin with your mouth, curse the enemy's life, and do not rejoice at his retribution, but rejoice at his disaster (see: 31-29-30).
Be righteous
He clothed himself with righteousness, and made justice his robe and crown (2914).
He identified cases of poor people (2916); Break the teeth of the unrighteous man and take the loot from his teeth (2917).
He did not despise his servants and maidservants. When they argued with him, he listened humbly to their plot (thirty one thirteen).
