In addition, Volume III of the compassion Sutra, the book of Bodhisattvas, describes that Amitabha Buddha, the eldest son of Wang Wuzheng in his past life, became a monk in front of the treasure Buddha and vowed that if all sentient beings suffer from all kinds of distress and terror, if he can remember me and read my name, he will be free from all kinds of pain and trouble. The treasure Buddha recorded and named Guanyin for him.

Guanyin Bodhisattva is one of the four great bodhisattvas of Chinese Buddhism.
