Tigrat Parashar III (? -727 BC) was the founder of the Assyrian Empire and Tigrat Parashar dynasty (745-727 BC). During the reign of Tigrat Parashar III, the Assyrian Empire became the great empire of western Asia.

Tigrath Parashar III (? -727 BC) was the son of King Adad Nirari III of the Kingdom of Assyria and the younger brother of Assyrian Nirari V. In 745 BC, Tigrat Parashar III overthrew Assyrian Nerali V, seized power, and began the rule of the Tigrat Parashar dynasty, ending the Nasilpa dynasty.
After Tigrat Parashar III came to power, military reforms were carried out. Tigrat Parashar III formed a standing army and divided the army into specialized branches such as charioteers, cavalry, heavy cavalry, light cavalry, siege soldiers, and engineers. The reform of Tigrat Parashar III improved the combat effectiveness of the Assyrian army and provided a foundation for the Assyrian Kingdom's further expansion to the outside world.

In 727 BC, Tigrath Palashar III passed away and his son Salmanasar V came to power to rule.
