Pentos（ Πόντος/ Pontos ("waves") is a male god symbolizing the "sea" in Greek mythology. He is the sea god born of Gaia, the mother earth god.
He and Gaia gave birth to the sea elder Nereus, who symbolized the friendliness of the sea, Thomas, who symbolized the miracle of the sea, Forcus, who symbolized the anger of the sea, Kato, who symbolized the danger of the sea, and Eurybia, who symbolized the power of the sea.
