Pentos（ Πόντος/ Pontos ("waves") is a male god symbolizing "the sea" in Greek mythology. He is the sea god created by Gaia, the mother earth god.
He and Gaia gave birth to Nereus, the old man of the sea, who symbolized the friendliness of the sea, Thaumas, who symbolized the miracle of the sea, Phorcys, who symbolized the anger of the sea, Keto, who symbolized the danger of the sea, and Eurybia, who symbolized the power of the sea.
