"Florence Triumphant Over Pisa" is a marble sculpture created by Giambologna in 1570.

The fact that Pisa was actually attached to Florence occurred in 1406, and the city soon became a center of trade and shipping. But in the age when French aggressors coveted Italy, Pisa once again declared its independence until it was conquered by Florence in 1509. This historical event was given the meaning of "the battle of souls" in the propaganda of Christianity, and it was called "the battle of virtue and evil". This work is a symbolic sculpture of this historical event.

In 1570, this statue was made of marble. The use of sanding to carefully express the muscle tissues of various parts of the surface of the portrait was a stunt of Mannerist sculpture and was extremely popular at that time.

This statue is represented as the victor ruling the kneeling loser, giving it an allegorical nature. The human body is used to symbolize justice and evil, and there are precedents in Michelangelo's sculptures. Giambologna is more expressive than Michelangelo's symbolic sculpture on this statue. He emphasized the strength of the momentum with a beautiful image of a goddess. The image of the old man who was captured and bound naturally became synonymous with Pizza.
