Clytemnestra is the wife of Agamemnon in Greek mythology. During her husband's participation in the Trojan War, she ruled Mycenae with Aegis.
After Agamemnon returned to her home country, she planned to kill him and his captive prophet Cassandra in order to avenge her daughter, Iphigenea, who was sacrificed by her husband. Finally, she was killed by her own son.
Clytemnestra was the daughter of the Spartan king, who married Agamemnon and helped him regain the throne of Mycenae. And gave birth to a son and three daughters for him. The eldest daughter is Iphigenea.
Agamemnon later went to participate in the Trojan War and angered the hunting goddess Artemis for offending her, causing her to retaliate. When the military ships set sail, a storm descended around them to block their progress.
To appease the goddess's anger, Agamemnon took himself and the eldest daughter of Clytemnestra, Iphigenea. Claiming to take their eldest daughter to get married. But in reality, he killed his eldest daughter as a sacrifice to the gods in exchange for a smooth journey.
Before departure, Agamemnon arranged for a singer to monitor Clytemnestra, ensuring that she was not tempted. Then Agamemnon's brother Egistos fell in love with her and the king's throne, and several times deceived Clytemnestra, but Clytemnestra refused. Later, Aegis took the singer to a deserted island, burying him in the belly of a wild beast, and telling the truth about his eldest daughter's death changed Clytemnestra's mind. Eventually, she had an affair with Aegis and ruled Mycenae together.
10 years later, when the war ended and Agamemnon triumphed, Clytemnestra, in order to avenge his daughter, assassinated Agamemnon while the female slave prophet Cassandra, who had been snatched back by Agamemnon and Troy, was mating with the bathhouse
After the success of Clytemnestra, he ruled alongside Aegis and expelled himself and Agamemnon's son Orestes.
Seven years later, their son Orestes, under Apollo's command (threat), killed his mother to avenge his father. Orestes' matricide aroused the anger of the vengeful goddess. Triggered the subsequent tragic trial.
