She was dressed in a queen's robe with a hairnet on her head. Sometimes there are lobster pliers as accessories in the temple where she is worshipped. In poetry, people use her name to refer to the ocean.
Because Amphitrite became the queen of the ocean and the goddess of protection for marine animals, she possessed special abilities. She once transformed the beautiful narcissus Scylla into an ugly and terrifying sea monster. Because she married Poseidon, she was called "Poseidonia" and her worship spread throughout islands such as Tenos, Syros, and Lesbos.
